Al & Nanette's Cover

Los Angeles, California

A small trail led to the back of the house where it used to be a garden. The trail was narrow, and the plant life was wild. This was the perfect spot for the ADU. The goal was to create a space that felt private but also part of the main house garden. Large, sliding glass doors were used to make the small space feel airy. The interior design was kept minimal to maximize the footprint.

Jay Alicoan and Andy Campbell bought a light-filled backyard retreat for Jay's parents, Al and Nanette Alicoan, who are relocating from New Orleans to Los Angeles. Leveraging Cover's pre-approved plans, the project advanced from contract signing to occupancy in just 13 months.

What my family needed was a team we could trust to deliver. We found one at Cover. We wanted the best quality for my parents—but what surprised us was the speed. From signing to move-in, the whole process took just 3.5 months.

“It’s like having a second home where we can visit family and have a place of our own without bothering others.”

Jay Alcazar, homeowner and son of Al & Nanette
